Sudsbook is run by Tim Dennis, a sole trader in the UK. If you have a question about your details, email hello@sudsbook.co.uk.

This page covers three groups of people: cleaners who use Sudsbook to run their business, their customers, and anyone who asks for a quote through a page on this site.

If you run your business on Sudsbook

We hold what you give us: your name and email, your business details (name, phone, address, logo, prices, the areas you cover), the bank details you choose to print on your invoices, and your subscription details. We use them to run your account, to put your details on your quotes, invoices and public page, and to email you about your account. We don't sell them, share them for marketing, or send you newsletters.

Card payments for your subscription are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

If you are a cleaner's customer

Your cleaner keeps your details in Sudsbook: things like your name, address, phone, email, notes about access, your visits, quotes and invoices. Your cleaner decides what is kept and why, so questions about it are best asked to them first. We store it for them, keep it safe, and use it only to provide Sudsbook to them. You can still email us if you'd rather.

If you ask for a quote

What you type into a quote form goes to the business you chose, and is kept in their account so they can reply. We don't use it for anything else.

If you leave a review

Your rating, what you wrote, the name you chose to show and (if you gave one) your town appear on the business's public page for as long as the business is listed. We also keep the date and the internet address you posted from, so we can deal with fake or abusive reviews; those aren't shown. To have your review taken down, email us.

Who else handles it

• DigitalOcean hosts the app, its database and its backups, in London.
• Resend sends the app's emails (sign-in links, quotes, invoices).
• Stripe takes subscription payments.
• Anthropic reads the photos you upload to "Do it for me", only when you use it, to draft your customer list. Anthropic doesn't use them to train its models.
• postcodes.io turns postcodes into map positions. Only the postcode is sent.
• OpenStreetMap supplies the map tiles. Like any website, it sees your device's internet address when your browser fetches them.

Who can see it

Only you and anyone you give your login to. Tim Dennis can open an account to fix a problem or set it up for you when you ask ("Do it for me"), and doesn't look otherwise.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open. Deleting your account (Settings → Profile) deletes your business, your customers, visits, quotes, invoices and uploads straight away. Encrypted nightly backups roll off within six months. Before you go, you can download your customer list from Settings.

Cookies

Only the ones the site needs to work: one to keep you signed in, one to protect forms, and one that remembers light or dark mode. No advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete the details held about you, or object to how they are used. Email hello@sudsbook.co.uk. If you're not happy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
